About PortAventura Park

PortAventura Park is one of the largest and most visited theme parks in Europe, in Salou on Spain's Costa Daurada, an hour south of Barcelona. It is laid out in six themed areas — Mediterrània, Far West, México, China, Polynesia and the children's area SésamoAventura — each with its own architecture, shows and coasters. Ferrari Land and the Caribe Aquatic Park water park sit next door and are sold as separate tickets.

Which rides get the longest queues

The headline coasters take almost all the queueing. Shambhala, a hypercoaster over 75 metres tall in the China area, and Dragon Khan, famous for its eight inversions, draw the biggest crowds, especially mid-morning. Furius Baco in Mediterrània launches from 0 to 135 km/h in a few seconds and queues heavily because of its limited capacity. Uncharted, the indoor coaster that opened in 2023, still pulls long waits as one of the newest additions. El Diablo - Tren De La Mina and Angkor round out the busiest rides.

How to avoid the queues

• Arrive at opening and head straight for Shambhala or Uncharted: they fill up first.
• Leave SésamoAventura and the family rides for mid-afternoon, when families with young children start to leave.
• Eat before 13:00 or after 15:00 — while the restaurants peak, ride queues drop.
• The last hour before closing is the best window of the day for re-riding the coasters.
• Check live waits before crossing the park: Far West to China is a long walk.

They are next to each other but they are separate parks with separate tickets. Red Force, the tallest and fastest coaster in Europe, is in Ferrari Land. Many combined tickets cover both.
