Islands of Adventure is the second classic park at Universal Orlando Resort and, for many enthusiasts, the better of the two. It is arranged in themed islands — Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Hogsmeade, The Lost Continent and Seuss Landing — around a central lagoon.
Which rides get the longest queues
Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure consistently has the longest queue in the park, exceeding an hour even on quiet days. Jurassic World VelociCoaster, the launch coaster, and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey build very long waits. The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man and Skull Island: Reign of Kong round out the busiest rides. Jurassic Park River Adventure and Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls fill up as soon as the Florida heat kicks in.
How to avoid the queues
- Hagrid's first, no argument: it is the longest queue and the slowest to clear.
- VelociCoaster straight after: it is the park's clear second priority.
- Toon Lagoon's water rides are a relief at midday in summer, which is exactly why they fill up then.
