About Futuroscope

Futuroscope, near Poitiers, is not a coaster park: it is a park of imagery and audiovisual experiences, built on simulators, large-format projection, virtual reality and shows. It opened in 1987 and its futurist architecture is part of the visit. That changes how you plan it: most attractions run as timed sessions rather than continuous queues.

Which attractions get the longest queues

Chasseurs de Tornades (Tornado Chasers) and Destination Mars draw the longest queues. Arthur, the 4D adventure and Dances with Robots build waits because of their limited capacity. The Extraordinary Journey, the flying theatre over a spherical screen, is among the most highly rated and stays busy all day. Cosmic Collisions and Dynamic! round out the busiest attractions.

How to avoid the queues

Frequently asked questions

How long are the waits at Futuroscope?

Because it runs on sessions, waits are more predictable than at a coaster park: 15-40 minutes is typical, with peaks on the newest attractions. The live waits on this page show the current figure.

What kind of attractions does Futuroscope have?

Its line-up is not built around roller coasters: most of it is simulators, large-format projection, virtual reality and shows. That is what distinguishes it from other French parks.

How many days do you need?

A full day covers the main attractions. Two days let you see everything at a relaxed pace and include the evening show without rushing.

Is it suitable for young children?

Yes, with caveats: many attractions are very family-friendly, but some simulator experiences have height restrictions or can be intense. It is worth checking the guidance for each one.
