About Epcot
Epcot is the second park at Walt Disney World in Bay Lake, Florida, and the most distinctive of the four: it is split into World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature and World Showcase, the last of these with eleven pavilions devoted to different countries. It pairs attractions about science and the future with a culinary and cultural tour of the world that draws a more adult audience than Magic Kingdom.
Which rides get the longest queues
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, the launch coaster, has the longest queue in the park. Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, the trackless dark ride in the France pavilion, and Frozen Ever After in Norway build long waits all day. Test Track and Soarin' Across America round out the busiest attractions. Mission: SPACE and Spaceship Earth queue steadily but move considerably better.
How to avoid the queues
- Head for Guardians of the Galaxy or Remy's Ratatouille at opening: those two evolve worst.
- World Showcase opens later than the rest of the park: use the early hours for World Discovery.
- The France and Norway pavilions hold queues even when the rest of World Showcase is quiet.
- It is a very walkable park but a large one: check live waits before going round the lagoon.
- The last hours, with the pavilions lit, are among the best of the day and queues drop.
Frequently asked questions
How long are the waits at Epcot?
Guardians of the Galaxy and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure often exceed 60 minutes in peak season. Most others sit between 20 and 45. The live waits on this page show the current figure.
Is Epcot good for children?
It works for all audiences, but it is the most adult-leaning park at Walt Disney World: World Showcase is a food and culture tour that younger children enjoy less than Magic Kingdom.
What is World Showcase?
It is the area with eleven pavilions devoted to different countries, each with its own architecture, restaurants and shops, arranged around a lagoon. It is Epcot's defining feature.
When is Epcot least busy?
Late January to early February and parts of September are the quietest. The food festivals held through the year raise attendance considerably.
